Allegory of Plato's Cave
Shadow Silouettes
FIRST MINUTE-ISH
(Guitar Intro) Drone??? Shots of desert, zooms in to the cave
Starts in the cave, everyone left in the cave
Tv shows played on projector, couch in the studio
Youtube videos of people instructing on how to play instruments
Everyone trying to learn their instrument, turns into pots/pans, cardboard
(Ian singing first verse:)
Shot of first person wandering around,
Cut backs to other guys
(First Chorus)
blinded by the light coming out of the cave, "Are you willing to stay?"
Glorious sun, drone shots
Wide shots for chorus, zooms really close to face for struggle
Heavy negative struggle, bridge? Heights? Heat? Dehydration? Lot's Wife?
OR walking through people and buildings, freaks you out.
High five on the street, freaks Ian out. Potentially mugged.
Finds instruments, gives hope, way better than imagined
(Second Chorus)
Cut back to crew, mouthing "Are you willing to stay"
Grabs guitar and takes it back to the crew
Goes back to convince the rest of them to leave the cave-brings guitar to Max
Max first plays his solo, everyone wakes up to what reality could be, starts leaving cave
(Drum solo fill):
10 seconds, everyone plugs in and preps for jams
(Third Chorus) + a little extra
Creepy Oh-Oh-Oh Arabic Max
All jams, Glide cam, circular of everyone, speeds up
*Welcome is accepting the new reality that's outside of the cave. It is harder but better.
*Accepting the world, even though it isn't what you think it is*
Couch in desert?
